I love this DVD, this featurette you posted in on it along with some other interviews and an interesting commentary by director Irvin Kirshner who also a few years later went on to direct The Empire Strikes Back
There is also a section where it compares the movie screenplay to the original John Carpenter script film, Imagine if he would have directed this!?
Didn't see this when it first came out in the theater?
Yessireee. We DID see this together at the WESCOVE!!! You know, this was pre Mommie Dearest, and Faye is Faye, but the FASHION is the BEST. Wasn't Helmut Knuton the inspiration, or did he not actually set up the fashion sequences. Either way, this is truly a look back at a time when fashion of the '70s was so chic, I can hardly stand it. Remember my "designs?" Totally Laura Mars inspired. This is not a brilliant film, but it is well worth the watch, and Tommy Lee Jones is delectable. Rene Auberjoonieseze is himself, but the models steal the show.
Someday I'll tell about sneaking into see CRUISING, underage, but not right now.
